The seat-belt retractors may not function properly, where the force limiter may allow the seat belt to extend more than intended. This, in turn, may increase the amount of forward motion of the occupant, increasing the risk of injury in the event of an accident.

The Toyota RAV4 vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 4. 11. 2003 – 4. 3. 2005; 23. 4. 2001 – 13. 7. 2004; 10. 10. 2003 – 21. 1. 2004; 1. 6. 2001 – 4. 9. 2003.
