Toyota Avensis (2002 – 2006)

Toyota-Avensis-2003-airbag-inflator

The density of the propellant in the airbag inflator may be reduced due to high-temperature cycling and moisture in the propellant and its sealed container. In the event of an accident, this can lead to the release of fragments of the front airbag from the generator housing, increasing the risk of injury.

The Toyota Avensis vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 21 August 2002 and 24 April 2006.

Toyota recall code: 22SMD-115

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
