The software in the battery management control unit cannot detect certain failure modes in the battery In the vehicles concerned there may be a defect in the high-voltage battery, which could lead to overheating. This increases the risk of fire in the vehicle.

The Opel Grandland X vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 2 July 2019 and 10 March 2021.
