Incorrectly routed condensation drain hoses can cause moisture to enter the passenger compartment, leakage currents and thus an increased risk of fire. It may not be possible to unlock the vehicle. In addition, the automatic emergency call (eCall) could fail, and the engine emergency mode could be activated.

The Mercedes-Benz GLS vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 29 August 2018 and 2 February 2021.
