An emission control component, used under certain conditions, could deteriorate more rapidly than expected and might cause the exhaust emissions’ level of nitrogen oxides (NOx) to exceed regulated limits. Nitrogen oxides are harmful to human health and the environment.

The Mercedes-Benz Citan models affected by this recall were manufactured in the following periods: M1: Citan 108 – 109 CDI manufactured June 2015 -December 2016; M1: Citan 111 CDI June 2015 – February 2017; N1: Citan 108 – 109 CDI June 2016 – December 2016; N1: Citan 111 CDI June 2015 – February 2017.
