Mercedes-Benz C-Class (2013 – 2014)

mercedes-benz-c-2013-recall

It is possible that the control unit for the seat heating was not fitted properly to the seat frame in the vehicles affected. This might lead to interference between that control unit and the passenger presence detector, as a result of which a child seat might be incorrectly identified as an adult and the front passenger airbag thereby activated. Alternatively, an adult might be identified as a child seat and the passenger airbag thereby deactivated. As a result, in the event of an accident where the airbags are deployed, there might be an increased risk of injury for the passenger.

The recall affects vehicles manufactured between 2 August 2013 and 22 April 2014.

Models C 180, C 180 Bluetec, C 200, C 200 Bluetec, C 220 Bluetec, C 250, C 250 Bluetec, C 250 Bluetec 4 Matic are affected.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
