Mercedes-Benz A-Class (2020)

Mercedes-Benz-A-Class-2020-power-steering

The connection of the power supply to the electrical power steering may have been contaminated by heat-activated adhesive. Ageing of this adhesive could lead to a loss of clamping force and thus to a loose connection that may lead to interruption of the power supply.

As a result, the electrical power steering could fail spontaneously, even while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of an accident.

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 25 June and 8 July 2020.

Mercedes recall code: 4694014
Affected models: CLA (X118), A-Class (X177)
Vehicle numbers (worldwide): 1,712

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
