Mazda CX-5 (2018 – 2020)

Mazda-CX-5-2018-SCR-harness

The CX-5 Diesel has a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system. There is an SCR/AWD harness that has a unique routing around the SCR tank cover. Over time, contamination (i.e. sand, dirt) on the SCR/AWD harness may cause wear on the harness wiring and insulation due to vibrations of the SCR tank cover. In the worst-case scenario, the electrical circuits in the wiring harness can be disconnected with the MIL/SCR/4WD resulting in the warning lights do not work properly.

The Mazda CX-5 vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 15 May 2018 and 24 September 2020.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
