The plastic logo on the steering wheel airbag module cover may become brittle over time. Due to this, the logo may shatter during normal airbag deployment and plastic fragments may hit occupants leading to serious injuries.

The Mazda 3 vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured from 18 February 2003 through 22 June 2006.
