The high-voltage battery pack can contain cells having separator damage. A damaged separator can lead to a very rapid chemical chain reaction in the battery. This can cause the battery to overheat, which can start a fire in the vehicle.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 1 July 2020 and 16 November 2023.
