BMW iX (2020 – 2021)

BMW-iX-2021-airbag

On the vehicles concerned, the A-pillar panel holder may not be screwed in place according to specifications. Activation of the airbag, as well as causing the panel to separate, could lead to bending affecting the inflation behaviour of the airbag and, in a worst-case scenario, damage the airbag, increasing the risk of injury.

The BMW iX (i20) vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured between 13 October 2020 and 17 September 2021.

The official market launch for the I20 model is planned for November 2021. Affected vehicles will be retrofitted before delivery.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
