Due to a manufacturing defect, the control plates of the backrest recliner in the second row of seats may break. In this case, the backrest may not be secured in the event of an accident, increasing the risk of injury to the rear passengers.
The BMW i3 models affected by this recall were manufactured between 19 February 2021 and 5 March 2021.
