BMW-2-Series-airbag-takata

The propellant in the driver airbag may deteriorate over time. If the airbags deploy, it could result in fragments from the inflator injuring the vehicle’s occupants.

The BMW 2 Series and 2 Active Tourer/Gran Tourer vehicles affected by this recall were equipped with Takata airbags* and manufactured from the start of production until 20 June 2018.

* Vehicles retrofitted with Takata airbag by conversion of the steering wheel to “Sport” or “M Sport”.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
