During the production of the instrument panel, the welding of a joint may not have been executed in line with the specifications in the area where the passenger airbag is attached to the control panel. As a result, the airbag may be damaged during deployment, reducing its protective capacity and increasing the risk of an injury.

The Audi Q5 models affected by this recall were manufactured in November 2018.
