When the front, right seat is operated to rearward position, the seat runner can compress the battery supply cable. If the cable is repeatedly compressed, the insulation of the electrical cable can be damaged and a short-circuit can occur between the cable and the runner, resulting in smoke in the vehicle cabin. The smoke could cause the driver to be distracted and increase the risk of an accident.
The recall concerns certain vehicles built between March 2007 and November 2015.
