In January 2024, Porsche announced a recall through KBA with the internal code APB5 for 858 cars produced between 2020 and 2023. A cell defect in the high-voltage battery can lead to a short circuit and cause a fire. In March 2024, we also found this recall on the European Safety Gate list.

Now, two more recalls with the codes ARA4 and ARA5 for 2,936 Porsche Taycans built between 2019 and 2023 and 4,522 Taycans built between 2018 and 2024 appear in the German Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) database. In both cases, the reason for the recall is again a cell defect in the high-voltage battery, which can lead to a short circuit and, subsequently, a fire.

Another extension with code ARB5 for 764 Taycans was reported on 28. 10. 2024.

Remedy: The HV module will be inspected by an authorized service center and replaced if necessary.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
