Opel, Citroen and Peugeot vans: Possible power steering failure with risk of fire

peugeot-boxer-power-steering-failure-kba

Opel is recalling 6,628 Movano vans, Citroen 12,925 Jumper vans and Peugeot 12,463 Boxer vans manufactured in 2023 to authorised workshops worldwide. High-pressure lines of the hydraulic power steering that do not comply with the specification can lead to a deterioration in steering feel or, in the worst case, to failure of the power steering assistance. In the worst case, a vehicle fire also cannot be ruled out.

At the authorised workshop the part numbers of the installed high-pressure line are checked and replaced only if the code T201 or T316 is embossed on the high-pressure line in white lettering.

The KBA monitors the recalls under the reference numbers “013294“, “013296” and “013297“. The internal manufacturer codes are “KJ1” for Opel, “JZP” for Citroen, and “MKZ” for Peugeot.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
