Over a million Toyotas Corolla may have brake problems when cornering

Toyota-Corolla-2024-brakes-failure-kba

Toyota is recalling 1,004,950 vehicles of the Corolla model series manufactured between 2022 and 2024. The reason for the recall is a software error that can lead to reduced brake pressure during braking when cornering. The brake pedal becomes hard and the braking distance increases accordingly.

At an authorised workshop, the brake control unit is reprogrammed.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “14590R“. The internal manufacturer code is “24SD-146“.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
