Worldwide, 315,000 Mercedes-Benz Sprinters manufactured between March 2017 and November 2020 will have to be returned to the workshop. The reason for the measure is a defective design of the fuse for the interior fan. This can lead to overheating during continuous operation at the highest blower level. A possible fire hazard cannot be ruled out. In Germany, over 70,000 vehicles are affected.
The fuse and its supply line are replaced and repositioned in the workshop. The workshop visit will take about one hour. The KBA is monitoring the action under the code “012571“; the manufacturer code is “VS30SIGEBL“.
