Mercedes-Benz is recalling 171,463 GLE and GLS from the 2018-2021 production period to workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is incorrectly installed condensation water drain hoses, which allow moisture to enter the interior. This can cause leakage currents, which could lead to an increased risk of fire, the inability to unlock the vehicle, failure of the eCall and activation of the engine emergency mode.
In the workshop, the condensation drain hoses of the air conditioning system are checked and correctly fitted if necessary. The KBA monitors the action under the reference number “012644“. At Mercedes, the actions run under the codes “8392005” and “8391109“.

This notification is purely informative for the vehicle type you have selected. As these deficiencies often relate to specific components (engine type, bodywork, equipment), the recall may not apply to all vehicles of this type. For more detailed information on possible recalls for your vehicle, please contact an authorised workshop (see below at “What the owner should do?”).
What the owner should do?
If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.
If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
