Mercedes is recalling 1,967 GLCs built between 2021 and 2022 to the workshop worldwide. The reason for the recall is a defective attachment of the acoustic pad in the B-pillar. This can lead to impairment of the belt retractor and the belt tensioner in the event of an accident.
In the workshop, the acoustic pads are removed from the affected vehicles; the belt retractors are checked and replaced if necessary. The KBA monitors the action under the reference code “012201” while the internal code is “6891204“.

What the owner should do?
If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.
If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
