Mercedes-Benz is recalling 126,042 G-Class vehicles from the 2018 to 2022 production period to workshops worldwide. The reason for the measure is the front axle line set, which can chafe on the auxiliary radiator. Damage to this can lead to impairment of ESP and ABS.
In the workshop, the front axle line set is checked and replaced if necessary. In addition, a scuff guard is fitted. The action at the KBA runs under the reference code “012572“, while the action at Mercedes runs under the code “5491809“.

What the owner should do?
If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.
If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
