Mercedes-Benz C-Class: Faulty screw connection on a fuse box

Mercedes-Benz-C-Class-fuse-box-fire-kba

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 2,826 C-Class vehicles manufactured between 2021 and 2022 to authorised workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is a faulty screw connection on a fuse box that can lead to increased temperatures and, consequently, to an increased risk of fire. At the same time, the vehicle may lose its drive.

In an authorised workshop, the screw connection of the cable set to the fuse box is checked, and any necessary repairs are carried out.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “13990R“. The internal manufacturer code is “5497603“.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
