Worldwide, 105,825 older Kia Sorento that left the production line between 16. 3. 2012 and 14. 8. 2014 have to be checked in the workshop. The reason is a faulty plug connection of the electric auxiliary heater. A fire hazard cannot be ruled out. In Germany, the recall covers 5,452 vehicles.
As a remedial measure, the PTC heater relay is replaced in the workshop and the cable holder on the PTC auxiliary heater element is repositioned. If the connector plug is damaged, the PTC auxiliary heating element and connector plug will also be replaced. The internal code for the recall is “221086”.
