Kia is recalling 4,598 Sorento 1.6 T-GDI Plug-In Hybrid vehicles manufactured between 23 February 2023 and 18 December 2024 to authorized workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that, in the event of a head-on collision, the fuel hose may be damaged by components being pushed backward, potentially causing a fuel leak. A fire cannot be ruled out.
In an authorized workshop, an additional protective cover will be fitted around the fuel line.
The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “15011R“. The internal manufacturer code is “251005“.
