Kia-Ceed-brake-booster-failure-kba

Kia is recalling 105,888 Ceed, Optima, ProCeed, Sportage, Stonic, XCeed built between 2018 and 2020. The reason for the recall is a design fault in the filter screen of the tandem pump for vacuum generation, which can lead to failure of the brake booster.

In the workshop, the filter screen is removed and the tandem pump is checked and replaced if necessary. The KBA monitors the measure under the reference number “013136” and the internal manufacturer code is “220S15/221048“.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
