Honda recalls over 1.3 million cars. Faulty fuel pump poses risk of fire

Honda-fuel-pump-fire-kba

Honda is recalling 1,384,932 vehicles of the Civic, Civic Type R, CR-V, and ZR-V model series manufactured between 2021 and 2024. The reason for the recall are cracks inside the high-pressure fuel pump that can lead to a fuel leak. There is an increased risk of fire.

At an authorised workshop, a gas leakage is checked and the pump replaced, if necessary. On affected CR-V P:HEV (plug-in variant) vehicles, the high-pressure fuel pump is always replaced as the number of pump strokes cannot be determined with certainty due to the possibility of purely electric operation.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “14559R“. The internal manufacturer code is “6YP“.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
