Overview of recalls in the 31 week of 2025
Two recalls for 5 models of two makes were announced via EU Safety Gate in the 31 week of 2025. Five recalls for 10 models of four makes were published by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).
One recall each will be found this week in the European Safety Gate system for the Audi and Hyundai.
Ferrari, Ford, Mercedes-Benz and Peugeot are all recalling through the German KBA.

Ford expands major DPF recall
In December 2024, Ford announced a major recall of several models with diesel engines equipped with DPF systems, which originally affected more than 760,000 vehicles manufactured between 2014 and 2023. The reason for the recall is a manufacturing defect leading to a gradual increase in particulate emissions over the engine’s lifetime. Ford is now adding more vehicles to the recall, specifically the Focus model (C519) with a 2.0 diesel engine manufactured between 23 April 2018 and 8 February 2023. The current number of recalled vehicles already exceeds 1.2 million.
Mercedes engines may fail
This week, Mercedes issued a recall for the GLC, CLS, C-Class, and E-Class models due to a fault in detecting irregular combustion. This defect can lead to fuel injection being cut off when exiting coasting mode, which may result in engine failure while driving. A relatively large number of vehicles — 59,906 in total — are affected by this recall. The solution involves updating the engine control unit software.
Peugeot 208 and 2008 at risk of fire
Not long ago, we reported on a recall involving four Peugeot models — 3008, 408, 5008, and 308 — where fuel leakage caused by abrasion of the fuel line could lead to a fire. Now, Peugeot has issued a recall for two more models, the 208 and 2008, which may also catch fire due to fuel leakage. In this case, the issue stems from a fuel tank leak, and 19,393 vehicles are being recalled.
