Ford recalls over a million diesel vehicles for faulty DPF

Ford is recalling 1,249,828 vehicles of the B-Max, C-Max, Ecosport, Fiesta, Focus, Galaxy, Kuga, Mondeo, Ranger, S-Max, Tourneo Connect, Tourneo Courier,Transit Connect, and Transit Courier model series manufactured between 2014 and 2023 to authorised workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is design-related increase in the number of particles over the service life.

In an authorised workshop, the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is re-calibrated, regenerated, checked and replaced if necessary, if damage is detected.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “14555R“. The internal manufacturer code is”24E06“.

Update 1. 8. 2025
In August 2025, an update to this recall appeared in the KBA database for 35,146 Focus models (C519) with a 2.0 diesel engine manufactured between 23 April 2018 and 8 February 2023. Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number „15307R“. The internal manufacturer code remains the same, „24E06“.
