Overview of recalls in the 34 week of 2025
Ten recalls for 33 models of ten brands were announced via EU Safety Gate in the 34 week of 2025. Eleven recalls for 32 models of ten brands have been published by the German Motor Vehicle Authority (KBA).
Two recall campaigns can be found this week in the European Safety Gate system for Citroen and Peugeot. One recall campaign has been issued by each of the following brands: Alfa Romeo, BMW, Chevrolet, Fiat, Lamborghini, Mini, Opel and Porsche.
Through the German KBA, the Alfa Romeo, Citroen, DS Automobiles, Ferrari, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Mercedes-Benz, Opel and Peugeot carmakers are recalling.

Bad weeks for the Stellantis Group
The Stellantis Group has experienced a series of setbacks in recent months, with recall campaigns affecting its brands.
- In May, a recall was issued concerning van seats.
- In June, dangerous airbags were found to be a problem in the Citroën C3 and DS3 models, prompting the manufacturer to issue an urgent warning to stop using the vehicles until they are serviced.
- Then came another blow in July – the 1.5 BlueHDi engines are experiencing premature wear of the camshaft timing chain, affecting more than 1 million vehicles. If this issue isn’t resolved in time, it could result in chain breakage and destructive contact between the pistons and valves, ultimately causing fatal engine damage.
To make matters worse, another major recall appeared in August, currently affecting 8 brands from the Stellantis Group’s portfolio (Alfa Romeo, Citroen, DS, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Opel, Peugeot – see table at the end of the article). This time the issue is a fire risk due to loose nuts in the fuel system, potentially leading to fuel leaks between the high-pressure pump and the fuel rail – which can result in a fire. According to the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), 11 cases of vehicles catching fire have been linked to this recall as of 17 June 2025.
All the above-mentioned issues can be resolved free of charge with a timely visit to an authorized service center of the respective brand. So the mechanics at Stellantis Group authorised workshops will certainly be kept busy.
It’s important to note that the Stellantis Group is handling these unfortunate events responsibly and is making efforts to inform vehicle owners via its service centers, media, and relevant European and national authorities.
