Fire risk in Peugeot 208 and 2008 due to fuel tank leak

Peugeot-208-2023-2025-fuel-leak

Peugeot is recalling 19,393 208 and 2008 vehicles manufactured between 26 June 2023 and 8 April 2025 to authorized workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that a leak in the fuel tank can lead to fuel leakage and, as a result, a fire hazard.

In an authorized workshop, the production week of the fuel tank will be checked and, if necessary, the ring nut and seal on the tank’s inspection opening will be replaced.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “15189R“. The internal manufacturer code is “MXH“.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
