Jeep-Grand-Cherokee-fire-risk-kba

Jeep is recalling 191,786 vehicles of the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler model series manufactured between 2020 and 2023 to authorised workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is a defect in the high-voltage battery that could lead to a fire.

At an authorised workshop, the software update and the driving cycle of the Battery Pack Control Module (BPCM) must be carried out. Also update of the Auxiliary Hybrid Control Processor (AHCP), the Hybrid Control Processor (HCP), the Integrated Dual Charging Module (IDCM), the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the Transmission Control Module (TCM) if updated software is available for one of these modules.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “14395R“. The internal manufacturer code is “95B“.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
