Damaged belt retractor may fail with some BMW and Mini models

BMW is recalling 8,800 vehicles of the 2, IX2, IX1, X2, X1 model series manufactured between 18. 6. and 25. 8. 2025. The recall is due to a damaged belt retractor which may fail and the belt may lose its restraining effect.

The same problem may occur with 6,331 Mini and Mini Countryman vehicles with the same production period.

At an authorised workshop, depending on the recall code, the front left and/or right seat belts are repalced.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “15584R, 15585R“. The internal manufacturer codes are “0072800200, 0072790200, 0072780200, 0072830200, 0072820200, 0072810200“.
