Worldwide, Citroën is recalling 4,896 Jumpy and Spacetourer, Opel 6,331 Zafira and Vivaro and Peugeot 4,210 Traveller and Expert vans manufactured between 2020 and 2021. The reason is a fault in the urea tank. This leads to driving without urea injection, which has an impact on vehicle emissions. In Germany, 1,491 Citroën, 3,417 Opel and 718 Peugeot are affected.
The AdBlue liquid injection may fall below adequate levels at extremely low temperatures (-15°C) when the tank and fluid temperature are similarly low. Prolonged exposure to low temperatures may cause AdBlue to freeze, preventing the system from heating it quickly enough, which may result in excessive emission levels. This poses a risk to the environment.
The urea tank is replaced in the workshop. The KBA monitors the measure under the reference numbers “012471”, “012523” and “012470”. The manufacturer codes are “HUL” for Citroën, “KDH” for Opel and “KPK” for Peugeot.
