Batteries in two Mini models may catch fire

Mini-Aceman-2024-battery-fire

Mini is recalling 539 + 258 Aceman and Cooper vehicles manufactured in 2024 to authorized workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that faulty cell modules in the high-voltage battery can cause a vehicle fire in the event of a short circuit.

In an authorized workshop, the cell modules in the high-voltage battery will be checked and, if necessary, replaced.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under two reference numbers “14477R and 14611R“. The internal manufacturer codes are “0061970800” and “0061960800“.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
