Audi recalls 750,000 vehicles due to illegal emissions interference

Audi is recalling 489,453 vehicles of the A4, A6, A8, and Q7 model series manufactured between 2005 and 2010 to authorised workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is the removal of unauthorised defeat devices or the unauthorised reduction of the effectiveness of the emission control system.

In an authorised workshop, the software of the engine control unit is updated.

The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “14531R“. The internal manufacturer code is “23BK“.

Another recall for 262,264 vehicles of the A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q5 and Q7 model series produced between 2010 and 2017 has been announced by KBA under the reference number “14571R“. The manufacturer’s internal code is “23DW“.

Update 9. 12. 2024:
The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall also under the reference number “14607R“. The internal manufacturer code is “23BK (Krit. 02 + 03)“.
