Audi is recalling 187,586 A3 and A4 vehicles manufactured between 2004 and 2013 to authorised workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is that a fault in the gas generator of the driver’s airbag can lead to uncontrolled deployment and the release of metal fragments that can injure the occupants when the airbag is deployed.
In an authorised workshop, the gas generator on the driver’s airbag is replaced.
The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “14004R“. The internal manufacturer code is “69RR“.

What the owner should do?
If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.
If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
