At the 24th week of 2018, four new recalls were announced. Two Jeep models and one by Chrysler, Dodge, and Mercedes-Benz are newly added to the RAPEX database.
Problems with active head restraints appeared at the beginning of June with several Volkswagen models – and now are being recorded by Jeep, Chrysler, and Dodge. While the Golfs, Passats, Tourans and Caddys have been affected by their poor fixation, the problem of the control module of the restraint system regulator is causing problems for Americans. It concerns Jeep Liberty (2011 – 2013), Jeep Cherokee (2011 – 2013), Dodge Avenger (2011 – 2013) and Chrysler 200 (2011 – 2013).
The Mercedes V-Class, manufactured between February 15 and 19, 2018, has faulty handles in the side doors. The doors could open in the event of a side collision.
Motorcycles
There was no new motorcycle recalls at week 24. The Suzuki last recalled the GSX-S 125 and GSX-R 125 from 2016 to 2018 at the beginning of June, due to the possible loosening of the engine mounting bolts and consequent cracking of the frame.
