Chevrolet is recalling 348,102 Aveo, Cruze, Orlando, and Trax vehicles manufactured between 2008 and 2017 to authorised workshops worldwide. The reason for the recall is a fault in the gas generator of the driver’s airbag that can lead to uncontrolled deployment and the release of metal fragments that can injure the occupants when the airbag is deployed.
In an authorised workshop, the driver’s airbag must be replaced.
The Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) monitors the recall under the reference number “13971R“. The internal manufacturer code is “N222358800“.

What the owner should do?
If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.
If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
