I bought an LS430 from 2001 when it was 7 years old with a very low mileage at only 41.000 kms. Although the styling of the car is old school I came to love this car very much. The V8 is silky smooth and quiet with acceptable fuel economy for a car of this size. I had the car for 4 years and 180.000 kms and my avarege was 11,7 l/ 100 kms (24 mpg).
The interior is phenomenally comfortable, you can cover long distances with the LS430 in total comfort. It is also a sleeper, people don’t hate you for your luxury car, they just see a big old Toyota.
Engine, gearbox and air suspension had no problems at all except for one issue with a small part in the VVT-i system but it was replaced with a Toyota part and I was surprised how inexpensive it was.
If you can live with the consumption in times of high fuel prices this Lexus is an absolute gem as a highway cruiser and a family car.
