Reliability – wow, I was not expecting much but it’s shockingly bad. From new this vehicle has broken down three times, leaving me stranded and waiting for the recovery truck. The AA road side assistance guy just laughed and said the New Defenders were the worst vehicles he has ever encountered. Twice the windscreen has cracked down the middle, drivers pillar cover fell off, stereo replaced twice, weekly random warning lights on the display, air suspension deflated on one side, gearbox and rear differential changed. It has spent almost 2 months in total at the dealer awaiting repairs and parts, along with the dozens of other vehicles parked, broken at the dealer. I have a year left on the lease and then it’s gone – I will never have another. Please don’t make the same mistake I did, buy anything but a Defender, unless you want to be on first name terms with the recovery truck driver. I’m not joking about that either.
