2019 was the last year the i30 was imported to Canada. It was sold here as an ELANTRA GT although the Elantra is made in Georgia, USA. My car is made in South Korea.
When I travel to Europe, It’s so good to see all the latest models of the i30. There was not much choice in Canada for engines. The 2 litre only. We have had to suffer through the North American recalls for engine fires although our car was not involved. We received a recall notice and the service advisor told me I would not be getting the knock sensor (the fix) but just the program update.
The car sold for about $CAN 24,000. We got 5 years of 0% finance so we are still smiling. The car itself works well, the pedestrian/bike sensor works well. The backup camera lens is horrid but the system works well as does the Google interface. I once accidentally put the engine on “SPORT” instead of “ECO” and I took off burning rubber. This car can really go with that 2 litre engine!
