The bolts which connect the cross-member of the trailer coupling device (towbar) to the vehicle may not have been tightened with the correct torque. As a result, the cross-member and the trailer could be completely detached from the vehicle, endangering the following traffic and increasing the risk of an accident.
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class models affected by this recall were manufactured between 20 and 30 August 2018.

What the owner should do?
If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a Mercedes Benz dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.
If you wish to know more about eventual problems of a specific car (e.g. real mileage, potential traffic accidents damages, odometer rollback, repairs, etc.), then we suggest going to HPI-Check.
Check the vehicle's history
UK car-owners can easily make a pre-check by visiting DVLA website and entering the car registration number; it will also reveal the car’s current MOT status.
