Localised overheating of the engine cylinder head can occur due to the engine not containing sufficient coolant. This may cause the cylinder head to crack, causing a pressurised oil leak that may result in a fire in the engine compartment.
The Ford Galaxy vehicles affected by this recall were equipped with a 1,6L EcoBoost engine and manufactured between 4 August 2010 and 7 March 2014.
