Problem description:

The driver’s airbag may be damaged during activation and may fail to inflate sufficiently. This will impair its restraining effect, increasing the risk of an injury.

Furthermore, the driver could be injured by hot gases leaking from the airbag’s gas generator.

The BMW 1 Series models affected by this recall were manufactured between 25 January and 12 March 2020.
