Aston Martin Virage (2007 - 2015)

Production: III. 2007 - XI. 2015 | Problems / tags:

Problem Description

When the front, right seat is operated to rearward position, the seat runner can compress the battery supply cable. If the cable is repeatedly compressed, the insulation of the electrical cable can be damaged and a short-circuit can occur between the cable and the runner, resulting in smoke in the vehicle cabin. The smoke could cause the driver to be distracted and increase the risk of an accident.

The recall concerns certain vehicles built between March 2007 and November 2015.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you should make immediate contact with a Aston-Martin dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details.

If you wish fully comprehensive vehicle check, with more than 80 data points about the history of the car, then we suggest going to HPI-Check, which provides information on a specific vehicle using also the vehicle registration number.

UK car-owners can easily make a pre-check by visiting DVLA website and entering the car registration number; it will also reveal the car’s current MOT status.

This notification is purely informative for the vehicle type you have selected. As these deficiencies often relate to specific components (engine type, bodywork, equipment), the recall may not apply to all vehicles of this type.
