Four new car recalls were added to the Rapex database at the 23rd week of 2018. Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Peugeot and Citroën announced each one.

Mercedes-Benz recalled E-Class models a week ago because of the possible water penetration into the inner door area, and this time we can find it in the list again. The C-Class and E-Class models manufactured between August 2017 and February 2018 are recalled due to the poorly welded backrests of the driver’s and passenger’s seats. Defective welding on the backrests is not listed for the first time in our overview. Back in January 2018 the car maker Bugatti recalled the Chiron models with the same problem. And a year earlier also Volkswagen Polo from 2014 was recalled due to bad welds in the rear seats.

The seats and the Volkswagen are related to the second recall of the week again. Active headrest may be not well fastened and may become detached from the back of the seat. It concerns the Golf, Passat, Touran and Caddy models produced in January and February of 2018.

Citroën and Peugeot have announced the same recall for their different models. The airbag control units might have received a shock during transportation to the vehicle assembly plant, which might cause an internal fault. In the event of an accident, the airbags might not work correctly. Citroën C-Elysée, C4-Picasso, Berlingo and Peugeot 301, 308 and Partner produced in November 2017 are affected.

There is no new recalls at our new related Moto-Recalls.eu webpage this week. But we are still continuing to add the earlier motorcycle recalls from the Rapex archive. Currently we know about 131 problems, and 56 of them are related to brakes. See which motorcycles are involved: https://moto-recalls.eu/tagy/brakes/
