Problem Description

The shock-absorber forks fitted on the front axle may be defective and could break. As a result, the tyre could be pressed against the wheel arch, potentially causing an accident.

The Porsche Cayenne models affected by this recall were produced between 29 November 2018 and 20 December 2018.

What the owner should do?

If you read about a recall that you think may affect your car, you’ll need the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) for your car – this is a 17 characters code that appears on the chassis plate of your car or – on most UK-registered cars – in the bottom-left corner of your windscreen.

You should make contact with a Porsche dealer or workshop that’s been officially authorised to perform repairs on behalf of the manufacturer and ask for the details. Usually that’ll be your nearest franchised dealership, or ‘main dealer’ as they’re sometimes known.

If you wish fully comprehensive vehicle check, with more than 80 data points about the history of the car, then we suggest going to HPI-Check, which provides information on a specific vehicle using also the vehicle registration number.

UK car-owners can easily make a pre-check by visiting DVLA website and entering your car registration number; it will also reveal your car’s current MOT status.

This notification is purely informative for the vehicle type you have selected. As these deficiencies often relate to specific components (engine type, bodywork, equipment), the recall may not apply to all vehicles of this type.
