12 recalls for 13 Toyota models in 2021
Toyota has announced twelve recalls in 2021 through the Rapex system, affecting thirteen of its models.
The fuel pump is the reason for the recall of over 300,000 Toyota Auris, Corolla and C-HR models from various production periods between 2017 and 2021. The resistance characteristics of the fuel pump components against high fuel pressure may be inadequate. As a result, cracks may be formed on the welded parts of the pump, and a fuel leak may occur.
Toyota also recalled in 2021 more than 122,000 diesel cars in Europe. The recall covers the Auris, Avensis, RAV4 and Verso models manufactured between April 2015 to May 2018. The cause is an internal leak in the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler and a fire risk.
