24 recalls for sixteen Ford models in 2020
In 2020, Ford announced 24 recalls for sixteen models through the EU Rapex system.
More than 33,000 vehicles were involved in Ford’s recall for Kuga PHEV models. Ford temporarily suspended the sale of these cars to customers. Vehicles should only be used in “EV Auto” mode, where battery charging is limited to braking energy recovery only and only partial battery capacity is charged.
Ford also announced three recalls for the Focus. The engine wiring harness may be damaged by contact with a bolt on the transmission housing with cars manufactured between 2018 and 2020. There may also be problems with the Power Distribution Box (PDB) contacts.
The Ford Transit had the most recalls (9) in all its body and size variants.
